Student's Cultural Activities

RAKMHSU organizes many social, cultural and entertainment programs. Students are encouraged to develop their interests and abilities, and to practice their hobbies through a variety of programs and activities. The University places a lot of emphasis on its extracurricular activities, and enables students to make good use of their leisure time through forming student cultural and scientific societies. UAE National Day:

RAKMHSU Celebrates the 40th UAE National Day

RAK Medical and Health Sciences University celebrated the 40th UAE National day on November, 29th, 2011. The celebration has witnessed the presence of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and officials of RAK government as well as students, parents, faculty and staff and a wide spectrum of the RAK local community entities.
The celebration included a variety of activities such as Police March Band Show and dogs show by RAK Police, traditional folk dance by Al Huboos Folk Art Society, and cultural performance by Al Qasimiya School.
At the end of the celebration His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi has inaugurated the cultural exhibition organized by RAKMHSU, Bin Majid Folk Art and kayaking Society and Al Huboos Folk Art Society.
Mr. Christian Velde, Resident Archaeologist, Department of Antiquities and Museums, gave a speech about Archeological History of UAE.
In November 2009 the University also celebrated the UAE National Day. It included a variety of activities and programs. The celebration was honored by the presence of HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi and a wide spectrum of the RAK local community entities.


University Cultural Day:

The first RAKMHSU University Cultural Day was celebrated and organized by the Students and in coordination with the Office of Student Affairs on Thursday May 27, 2010. The Cultural Day was well attended by students and their families, faculty, and wide spectrum of the public from RAK.

The 2nd University Cultural Day was organized by the Students and in coordination with the Office of Student Affairs on Saturday, 26th March 2011. The Cultural Day was well attended by students, faculty along with their families, friends and wide spectrum of the public from RAK.


EEG Public Speaking Competition:

As a part of their extra curriculum activities, RAKMHSU students have been participating in the last four sessions of the Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition, which organized by the (2008/09/10/11). The event organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) among the GCC Universities and Colleges, and took place at the Dubai Knowledge Village in the month of November of each year.
Teams from RAKMHSU have been participating into this competition since 2008. The teams represent RAK College of Medicine, RAK College of Pharmacy, RAK Dental College and RAK College of Nursing.
Throughout their participations RAKMHSU students have got prestigious awards for their presentations. In the year 2011 the team of the RAK College of Pharmacy won the First Runner up position and they have been awarded.


Campus Pulse: The Students' Magazine:

Students under the supervision of the Office of Students Affairs have released a quarterly Magazine (Campus Pulse) which is edited by students. The Magazine covers all aspects of University Students Life e.g. Interviews; Surveys; News and Updates; Scientific, Social and Literary contribution from Students. Fresher Day Party

The Student Council organized a Freshmen Celebration on 14th October 2010 for welcoming the new students. More than 100 students enjoyed the celebration that involved several activities-including quizzes for the audience, interesting games conducted on stage, introduction of RAKMHSU faculty and talent show of the freshmen.


Festival of Universities Theatre:

RAKMHSU students have participated in the Festival of Universities Theatre organized under the patronage of Ministry of Culture and Youth and in coordination with the Office of Student Affairs. From the seven universities initially selected to compete, RAKMHSU students have received three awards as follows:

  • Best Actress: Reem Al Sadek
  • Best actress Second rank: Nila Zojaji
  • Best Script for Romeo and Juliet sketch (written by Ms. Nila Zojaji).



The University via the Office of Students Affairs allows and facilitates the students to organize some trips and sight seen for some landmarks and interesting places. The students have arranged various trips such as:
