World Pharmacists Day 2014
RAK College of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated the World Pharmacists Day on 15th October 2014 & 22nd October 2014, with the theme “Access to Pharmacist is Access to Health” as recommended by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). For many years, FIP has recognized that access to medicines is a major issue in many parts of the world and pharmacists play a key role throughout the whole supply chain towards improving access to medicines. However, access to medicines itself will not result automatically in optimal health outcomes. The perfect combination is therefore access to medicines and pharmaceutical expertise, or in other words, to pharmacists.
Dr. Gurumadhva Rao, Vice Chancellor of RAKMHSU inaugurated the World Pharmacist Day on 15th October 2014 and highlighted the vital role of pharmacist in healthcare system and outcome.
Dr. Fatima Al Braiki, Pharmacy Advisor to Hospital Sectors, Ministry of Health, Dubai, was the invited speaker and chief guest of the program. She highlighted the role of pharmacist with respect to pharmacist only medications in U.A.E.
