Curriculum Overview
In the first year, the biomedical science emphasizes normal human structure and function. The second year shifts the focus to the patho-physiology of diseases and methods used to diagnose and treat illness.
The first and second year curricula have been arranged 'system wise'. A student will simultaneously study anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and clinical skills associated with a system. This will help one to achieve horizontal integration in the knowledge of the normal structure and function of the human body. As the clinical skills associated with the system are also taught at the same time, a student will appreciate the clinical correlation with the basic science courses. Similarly, vertical integration of the second year courses with the first year courses will be made by following the system based structuring of pathology, microbiology and pharmacology. The relevant clinical skills will also be taught ‘system wise’ in the second year.

The third, fourth and fifth years are an immersion in clinical medicine and primary and specialty care in outpatient and inpatient settings. Emphasis is placed on core medical specialties with opportunities for electives. During the fourth and fifth years, a student will have the choice of doing research along with other faculty.
