Hospital Facilities for Clinical Teaching for Pharmacy Students
RAKCOPS, RAKMHSU uses the facilities of Sheikh Saqr hospital and Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidallah hospital in Ras Al Khaimah for teaching and training of the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Sheikh Saqr Hospital is a tertiary care hospital with a bed capacity of 300 having surgical specialties like General Surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics.
Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidallah Hospital is a secondary care medical specialty hospital with separate geriatric specialty having a bed capacity of 350. The different medical specialties in this hospital are: Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, Respiratory & Chest Medicine, Psychiatry, Geriatrics and Nutrition.
Sheik Khalifa Super Specialty Hospital (SKSH) has a 250 bed capacity for the care of inpatients and number of outpatient clinics. SKSH has open six general Wards: three male wards, two female wards and a VIP ward. Additional wards include two ICU’s: Cardiac ICU with 10 beds and Medical ICU with 10 beds. SKSH provides essential world class tertiary care services in the Northern Emirates, with a focus on three medical specialties; Oncology, Cardiovascular, neuroscience.
In addition, various primary health centers and private community pharmacies of Ras Al Khaimah under the ambit of RAK Medical Zone were also included in the practical school/ clinical training of the pharmacy students.
