Dean's Message

Dear Students,
It is a pleasure to welcome you all to RAK College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, which is established in the year 2006-07. The first batch of B.Pharm program was initiated in the year 2007-08 and the Master’s program in the year 2012-2013 after the initial accreditation by commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific research (MOHESR).
You are all very fortunate to have taken admission in RAK College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, which will take all the responsibility to develop you as young pharmacy professionals. The goal of RAKCOPS is to provide you the required knowledge, skills and competence to practice pharmacy effectively in the community. To achieve this, we have a need based effective and dynamic curriculum with appropriate assessment methodologies.
The institution has also got adequate infrastructure and state of art facilities including lecture halls, laboratories, library and Pharmacy skills lab thus a wonderful environment for studies. The college started with 18 students in 2007-08 and has grown to a total of 181 students’ strength. Presently RAKCOPS is also offering MS program in the specializations of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacy. This is basically to prepare specialized pharmacists in their chosen fields.
The college has academic tie-ups with different universities like University of Findlay and Midwestern University of USA & Manipal University, India. Academic tie ups are basically for academic collaborations at national and international levels and for clinical rotations and student exchange programs.
RAKCOPS also has Industrial collaborations with Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (JULPHAR), Himalaya Drug Company & Dabur International Limited, for the industrial training of Master students in the specialization of pharmaceutical sciences which includes both pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical chemistry.
In addition to the facilities in the university, RAKCOPS also have a separate Clinical Pharmacy department in the hospital which is basically for practice school training for undergraduates and clinical rotations and research activities for the master students.
Apart from educational facilities, the institution also provides opportunities for the students both in co-curricular and extracurricular activities to bring out their talents. The different co-curricular activities are attending students’ conferences, and other conferences at both national and international levels and Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT).
I am sure that RAKCOPS will be the destination for the young minds who wish to be a successful Pharmacist of their chosen field.
