Q 1: How many books can I borrow?
Ans: Maximum of 4 Books you can borrow at one time

Q 2: How long can I keep the borrowed books?
Ans: You can keep the borrowed books for 2 weeks from the date of issue

Q 3: Can I renew the borrowed books?
Ans: Yes you can renew your books for 2 times.

Q 4: What is the process of renewing the borrowed book?
Ans: Books can be renewed by three ways:

By just replying the reminder E Mail sent by the Library
By Log in your Account Online
In Person

Q 5: How can I access my library account?
Ans: You can access you Library account through OPAC by clicking the ‘Check & Renew’ on OPAC main page.

Q 6: Can I reserve any particular Book?
Ans: Yes you can reserve the particular book, reservation can be made either in person at circulation counter or by log in your library account.

Q 7: How can I know the due date of the book?
Ans: You can log in your library account to know the due date. An advance reminders email will be send to the user one days before to inform the due date well in advance.

Q 8: Can I issue the ‘Reference Book’?
Ans: No, You cannot issue the ‘Reference Book’. They are meant to be use in the Library only.

Q 9: How can I know that the book is on reference?
Ans: The reference book can be identified by seeing ‘R’ on the spine of the book.

Q 10: Can I get the journals issued?
Ans: No, Journals and other periodical cannot be issued, you can just refer it in the Library

Q 11: Can I get the Audio-Visual material issued?
Ans: No, Audio-visual Material cannot be issued. They are for reference purpose only.

Q 12: Where can I search for the documents Available in the Library?
Ans: The Catalogue of the Library Material is available both On /Off-Campus,open www.rakmhsu.comthen click ‘Library’ then click ‘OPAC’.

Q 13: If OPAC is showing a book available on shelf, but I am unable to find, so what shall I do?
Ans: In this case, please contact the Library Staff.

Q 14: How do I get to know about the recent information from the Library?
Ans: List of Journals and Books that have been procured are circulated through Email to each and every member of the University Staff, Students and Faculties.

Q 15: What are the library hours?
Ans: Sunday to Thursday: 8.30 AM to 9:30 PM, Saturday: 9.00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday: Holiday

Ans: Yes, We have Four satellite Libraries,

Saqr Hospital Library
Obaidallah Hospital Library
Fujairah Hospital Library
RAKCODS Library

“Sunday to Thursday: 8:00AM to 2:30 PM”

Q 17: How can I use the Reprography Services (Printing, Scanning & Xeroxing)?
Ans: A dedicated staff is deployed to assist and serve you for all your Reprographic needs.

Q 18: How much do I have to pay for Reprographic services?
Ans: For Photocopying and Printing: 25 fils/page, for scanning: No charge.

Q 19: How can I pay for the reprographic services?
Ans: Payment can be made ONLY through your University ID Card which can be recahrged by the Accounts Department with minimum AED 50/-

Q 20: Does the library have any area for Group discussion?
Ans: Yes, Library have dedicated 10 PBL and group discussion room with the total seating capacity of 100 Students

Q 21: Do we have the back volume of the journals?
Ans: Back Volume of the subscribed journals is available in the Journal section of the Library.

Q 22: Where can I get more information about library?
Ans: Library Website has almost all the information about the Library. For further information please contact the Library staff.

Q 24: What is “Library Card”?
Ans: Our “University Identity Card” (UID Card) issued by the Administration Department is your RF ID based “Library Card”.

Q 25: What should I do if I lost my Library Card?
Ans: Immediately inform the concerned Staff immediately.

Q 26: How can I access the Online Resources of the library?
Ans: Through RAKMHSU E-Library Portal – www.rakmhsu.com – E-Library

Q 27: How can I register on RAKMHSU E-Library Portal?
Ans:
Step 1 – Open E-Library Portal Website.
Step 2 – Click ‘Register a new account’ and fill up all the details by using your University E-Mail ID only.
Step 3 – After completing the registration you will get a confirmation E-mail on University E-Mail ID.
Step 4 – Now you can access all the E- Resources subscribed by university.

Q 28: Is there any assistance or training provided for the effective usage of Online Databases?
Ans: Yes, on demand Library is organising the training and orientation session for the Online databses.

Q 29: How Can I access E-Books?
Ans: Please refer the details of the E-Books are available in the library. You will also be informed about the updates of the E-Books through your university E mail time-to-time.

Q 30: How can I access the Internet facility in the Library?
Ans: Internet facility is available on 35 Computer systems; apart from that you can also use the internet on our Laptops.

Q 31: Can I access the Internet facility on my laptop?
Ans: Yes, you can access the Internet on your Laptop as the whole Library Has WiFi connectivity

Q 32: I am an external member and I want to use the your library, So how do I proceed?
Ans: Yes, We have Library Professional Membership System. The external membership is granted only on the approval of the honorable Vice Chancellor. Fees Structure for the external members is as follows:

AED 2000/- as one year membership
AED 1000/- as six months membership
AED 200/- as per months membership

The Form for External Membership along with term & Conditions are available on the Library website. You can also request the form by E mail your request to library@rakmhsu.ac.ae, or by personally visit the library.

Q 33: Does the library also offering the services to INTERN?
Ans: Yes, we are offering the services to the interns/ Alumni. For more information, please visit: http://www.rakmhsu.com/alumni-affairs/benefits-for-alumni

Q 34: How can I use the self check and self check out facility of the library??
Ans: A step by step tutorial is pasted on both the station to assist you throughout the procedure of the self-check in & self-check out. The Library staff is always there to assist you.
