RAK Medical & Health Sciences University is a shining example of the dynamic leadership and challenging initiatives taken by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, for the overall development of Ras Al Khaimah, specially higher education. Under the patronage of H.H, who is also the Chancellor of the University, and with the able support of Government of Ras Al Khaimah, RAK MHSU has earned itself a good name for international quality education in medical and health sciences, within a short period of 5 years.

The permanent campus of the University was built in a very short time with all the world-class facilities to provide excellent academic environment for the students and faculty. The state-of-the-art Residential Halls built by RAK Government for the students of Ras Al Khaimah, provide luxurious comfort and excellent security for the students at affordable cost, which encourages the students to excel in their studies.

The cosmopolitan nature of the University's multi-cultural campus, which includes faculty from more than 20 nationalities and students from more than 40 nationalities, promotes healthy competition and cooperation between students of diverse background. The well equipped laboratories and the excellent library facilities help the students to enrich their academic knowledge and skills. Generous scholarships through Sheikh Saqr Program for Government Excellence (SSPGE) have greatly helped several students pursue their studies at RAK MHSU.

World class Clinical training being provided by the Government Hospitals in RAK – Sheikh Saqr Hospital and Obaidullah Hospital – supported very well by the highly talented Adjunct Clinical faculty from the hospitals for the last three years will be further augmented by the availability of Government hospitals in Fujairah shortly, through an agreement with the Federal Ministry of Health, Government of UAE. We expect RAK College of Medical Sciences to grow further and expand its Clinical training facilities further.

With the graduation of the first batch of MBBS and B.Sc Nursing students this year, we hope to see our University's health care professionals spread well across the globe providing excellent medical and health care services to the needy.

The RAK MHSU team welcomes the existing students back from the summer break and the fresh students joining in September 2011 to a bright future at RAK MHSU.
